Design inspired by the Earth as seen from the moon
MISSION TO EARTHPHASE is inspired by the Earth's view from the Moon, a mesmerizing view that has been captured in iconic images during various Apollo missions.
Earth Phase Indicator
Just as the phases of the moon can be observed from Earth, the Earth also shows phases when viewed from the Moon. Both the Moon and Earth go through a period of approximately 29.5 days, but in the opposite order. This means that when the "full moon" is visible from Earth, the "new Earth" is observed from the Moon, and vice versa when the "new moon" is visible from Earth. For this reason, the Earth phases of MISSION TO EARTHPHASE rotate in the opposite direction to the Moon phases.
Features
MISSION TO EARTHPHASE is a rare and special timepiece as it is the only watch with an Earth Phase display. It also features a Moon Phase display, making it the first watch to have both displays on the dial. A perfect blend of the wonders of space and the beauty of Earth, the two phase displays of this timepiece are crafted with unique details. The Earth Phase displays the beauty of our blue planet as seen from the Moon in vibrant colors. The oceans of the Earth Phase are coated with UV ink that glows blue in UV light, creating an otherworldly and mesmerizing effect. To highlight the mesmerizing view of the Moon facing the Earth, the lunar craters are created using a digital print. The Moon Phase display features two oversized moons with a white glow in the dark effect in Super-LumiNova®, adding to the lunar charm. The grainy grey dial, evoking the stark beauty of the lunar surface, features an image of the moon on the battery cover and the footprints of Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the moon, evoking the wonder of space exploration. The bezel is striking, with a black tachymeter scale and striking light grey markers in a newly developed colour.
